to the Sick & Homebound

"I was sick, and you visited Me..." Matthew 25:36

Our Pastoral Visitors bring the Eucharist to those unable to join us at Mass due to illness or mobility challenges. A significant reminder of our presence is the prayer given to the Pastoral Visitors at each Mass on a monthly basis. These trained volunteers visit homes, nursing homes, and BWMC hospital with prayers and communion for the sick and homebound.

What are the requirements?
A desire to visit those who are sick, in the hospital, at home or in a nursing home.

What are the responsibilities?
YOU first make a choice as to which aspect of this ministry most appeals to you.

  • If you choose to visit patients in Baltimore Washington Medical Center, you make a commitment to go one day a month, prepared to give Eucharist and to pray with the sick. Our parish is responsible for visiting patients Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  • If you choose to visit patients in North Arundel Rehabilitation Center, you make a commitment to go one day a month, the same as above.

  • If you choose to visit a parishioner who is homebound, you are on call to take Eucharist to a private residence when the need arises.

How do YOU get started in this ministry?

  • Attend a meeting to learn more.

  • Meet those who have been active in this ministry and team with one who can arrange a similar schedule.

  • Written material, complete with prayers and routine visits outlined, will be given to you.
